St Leonard, Foster Lane

View of the ruins of the now long vanished church of St Leonard, with the steeple of St Vedast Foster Lane in the background. St Leonard was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666, remaining in ruins until the early nineteenth century when the site was finally cleared. St Leonard's dated from at least the thirteenth century and served as a parish church for people of St Martin le Grand.
