Old Church , Chelsea

Chelsea Old Church (All Saints), and Sir Han Sloane's road. The only remnants left of the ancient church that had once stood here was an old wall standing on the north side of the churchyard, "built of flint and rough stone, confusedly heaped together," which the village's older inhabitants said was typical of the ancient church overall.

In 1824 a much larger gothic structure, St Luke's, was consecrated for the expanding population of Chelsea.
