The Olympic Theatre, Wych Street, Strand

Built on the site of a public house, The Queen of Bohemia's Head, the Olympic Theatre opened in 1806 as a "house of public exhibition in horsemanship and droll" and ran with indifferent success until 1849 when it burned down. The theatre was rebuilt and continued to offer entertainments until 1899 when it closed permanently.
