St Mary at Hill

Founded in the twelfth century, the church of St Mary at Hill stands on the west side of St Mary's Hill, which runs up from Billingsgate (the view above is looking down towards the Thames). Damaged in the Great Fire of London is was redesigned by Sir Christopher Wren as a square, Dutch-style church. The church was further restored during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
