Chingford Church

Chingford (or Chingleford, or Shymgylford) occupied a "romantic" position in Essex some seven miles north of London. The name derives from the Saxon words for King and ford when the surrounding lands were part of the Saxon royal demesne. The church, pictured above, dates from the time of Richard II. It sits atop a steep hill and commands beautiful views.
