An old blind beggar in West Smithfield

An old blind beggar and his attending small boy in West Smithfield, although both were also well known about Finsbury Square and Bunhill Row. The old man would cry, “Do, my worthy, tender-hearted Christians, remember the blind – pray pity the stone dark blind.” The boy, apparently, played spiteful tricks on his master to make the passersby even more piteous.
